ALPHA sci-tech complex
The scientific and production complex (sci-tech complex) "ALPHA" was created for the mass production of track membranes and medical devices based on them: the "Rosa" membrane plasma filter and the "GEMOPHENIX" plasmapheresis device for performing plasmapheresis procedures. Another key task of the ALPHA sci-tech complex is research work aimed at improving the technology for producing medical-grade track membranes, as well as the development of innovative medical devices based on nano-membranes intended for separating the protein components of plasma.
To produce domestic filtration medical equipment, in cooperation with scientists from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), the company "TRACKPORE TECHNOLOGIES" designed and built the first industrial cyclotron in Russia and the CIS countries, and the world's first specialized irradiation complex for the production of track membranes. For the first time in the world, a unique enterprise has been created that unifies the entire technology in a single cycle — from the production of the track membrane to the release of finished products in clean rooms. The "GEMOPHENIX" devices and single-use membrane plasma filters "ROSA" for performing membrane plasmapheresis procedures have been developed, patented, certified, and put into mass production.
The ALPHA sci-tech complex (STC "ALPHA") is a unique scientific and production complex that meets the requirements of GMP and ISO 9001 standards and carries out the mass production of track membranes (with a pore diameter of 400 nanometers), as well as medical devices for plasmapheresis. Since 2002, the ALPHA sci-tech complex has been the site of mass production of "GEMOPHENIX" devices and single-use membrane plasma filters "ROSA" for membrane plasmapheresis; all technological operations for modernizing the "ROSA" plasma filters are carried out here, and developments of subsequent types of medical equipment are being conducted. The current production capacity of the ALPHA sci-tech complex is 300,000 "ROSA" plasma filters and 1,000 "GEMOPHENIX" devices per year.
Today, reliable cooperation with leading medical centers has been established for developing methods for performing therapeutic and donor plasmapheresis procedures. Active scientific work continues at the enterprise on improving the technology for producing medical-grade track membranes and developing new medical devices intended for separating the protein components of plasma.
The creation of the ALPHA sci-tech complex, and thereby the solution of the scientific-technical, administrative-organizational, and medical tasks of establishing a domestic high-tech production and its subsequent mass production of medical equipment for membrane plasmapheresis, has made it possible to save thousands of human lives every year, to ease the suffering of hundreds of thousands of patients and accelerate their recovery, and also to help healthy children come into the world.
The process of producing a track membrane
The ALPHA sci-tech complex of the company "TRACKPORE TECHNOLOGIES" is a vivid example of implementing the achievements of fundamental science and solving applied tasks on their basis. The foundation of the enterprise is the advanced technology for producing track membranes and filtration equipment.
